The Chariho school district in Rhode Island crafted a five-year strategic plan called Vision 2023. The motivation for the plan stemmed from results of the Rhode Island Comprehensive Assessment System (RISCA). The school district performed well, according to the assessment results, but the school board wanted to see more improvements. To determine how the district could improve, a committee analyzed the plan, utilizing district-level data and information on effective strategies for school growth. Their strategic plan development highlights the effective strategy of understanding an existing plan, using available data, and receiving feedback from different stakeholders.
