Teacher in New York

A high school teacher in New York noticed there were no financial education courses offered at his school. He asked his principal and superintendent if he could start teaching elective courses. Having come from a background in finance, he felt comfortable with the topic and ready to start teaching. However, once he started offering the course, his enrollment was not very high. He wanted to make sure students were aware of his great class and set a goal to increase enrollment in his courses. He went to the school counselors and English and math teachers to ask if they could start spreading the word about his course. As enrollment increased, he was able to demonstrate to his principal the high demand for his course and was then able to expand the number of electives he was able to teach.
